Step 1: Bachelor's Degree

Getting a bachelor's degree from an accredited university is the first step to becoming an educator. Your field of study is not crucial, since you will pursue further education after you graduate, If you want to give yourself a solid foundation for your future studies, you may want to consider a program in law or public policy.  

A good impression on your instructors and decent grades are also priorities. As a minimum requirement for the next step, you'll need to earn a B average - roughly 70% across your courses - and have a good instructor's recommendation. Step 2: Graduate Diploma

A graduate diploma is only offered by two schools in Canada: Université de Montréal teaches in French, whereas Queen's University teaches in English. In this article, we'll examine the Queen's University School of Law program.

Your journey to becoming a registered immigration consultant in Canada begins with the Queen's University Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law. Designed to take place over three semesters in one year, it is a three-semester program that is ideal for online learning, as it does not require you to travel to Queen's Kingston campus in Ontario.

Applicants must meet the qualification requirements listed above, as well as submit a short Statement of Interest explaining their career goals and interest in this field.

Tutorials and coursework are scheduled weekly, which should take between forty and forty-eight hours per week - the equivalent of a full-time job. There are fees per semester, but it is likely that you will pay about $14,000 in total in tuition.

The Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law you earn at the end of the program is yours once you have completed it.
